Fried Sticky Pork Belly Bites
Ingredients
- • 1.5 kg pork belly
- • 60 ml soy sauce
- • 60 ml rice wine
- • 50 g brown sugar
- • 4 cloves garlic
- • 5 g chinese five spice powder
- • 1 sprinkle black pepper
- • 2 item green onions
Instructions
- 1
Cut the pork belly into 1-inch cubes
- 2
In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice wine, brown sugar, minced garlic, five spice powder, and a sprinkle of black pepper until the sugar dissolves.
- 3
Add the pork belly to the marinade, tossing to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, up to overnight.
- 4
Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 5
Remove the pork from the marinade, shaking off excess. Reserve the marinade. Arrange the pork cubes on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
- 6
Roast the pork belly for 1 hour, turning the cubes halfway through. Baste with some of the reserved marinade.
- 7
Increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F). Roast for an additional 15-20 minutes until the pork is caramelized and sticky.
- 8
Transfer the pork bites to a serving platter. Brush with any remaining marinade. Garnish with sliced green onions.

Chef's Note
"These melt-in-your-mouth pork belly bites are the ultimate party appetizer or game day snack. The key is the slow roast followed by a quick blast of high heat to achieve that irresistible sticky exterior. Marinating overnight allows the flavors to really penetrate the meat. Serve with toothpicks for easy grabbing!"
