Bacon-Wrapped Dates
Ingredients
- • 24 item medjool dates
- • 12 slices bacon strips
- • 115 g goat cheese
- • 24 item toothpicks
- • 1 sprinkle black pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- 2
Make a lengthwise slit in each date and carefully remove the pit. Be gentle to keep the date intact.
- 3
Stuff each pitted date with about 1/2 teaspoon of goat cheese, pressing gently to close the date around the filling.
- 4
Cut each bacon strip in half crosswise so you have 24 half-strips total.
- 5
Wrap one half-strip of bacon around each stuffed date, starting at one end and spiraling around. Secure with a toothpick through the center.
- 6
Arrange the bacon-wrapped dates on the prepared baking sheet with the bacon seam-side down, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- 7
Sprinkle lightly with black pepper if desired.
- 8
Bake for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bacon is crispy and golden brown on all sides.
- 9
Remove from oven and let cool for 3-5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a serving platter.
- 10
Serve warm and enjoy immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Chef's Note
"The key to perfect bacon-wrapped dates is choosing thin-cut bacon that crisps evenly without overcooking the dates. If your bacon is thick-cut, partially cook it for 3-4 minutes before wrapping to ensure it gets crispy. You can also try stuffing with blue cheese or manchego for delicious variations!"
