Bacon Caesar Salad

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook bacon strips in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain, then crumble into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

Wash and dry the romaine lettuce thoroughly. Tear into bite-sized pieces and place in a large salad bowl.

  3. 3

If using whole anchovy fillets, pat them dry and set aside for garnish.

  4. 4

Mince the garlic cloves very finely or use a garlic press.

  5. 5

In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, dijon mustard, worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and anchovy paste until smooth.

  6. 6

While whisking continuously, slowly drizzle in the olive oil to create an emulsified dressing.

  7. 7

Season the dressing with salt and pepper to taste.

  8. 8

Pour the dressing over the romaine lettuce and toss thoroughly to coat all leaves evenly.

  9. 9

Add half of the grated parmesan cheese and half of the crumbled bacon, then toss again.

  10. 10

Top with croutons, remaining parmesan cheese, and remaining bacon pieces.

  11. 11

If desired, arrange anchovy fillets decoratively on top.

  12. 12

Serve immediately on chilled plates for the best experience.

Chef's Note

"This elevated Caesar takes the classic to new heights with smoky, crispy bacon adding incredible depth and texture. The combination of salty bacon, umami-rich anchovies, and creamy dressing creates an irresistible flavor profile that will have everyone coming back for seconds. For the best results, make sure your bacon is extra crispy - it provides the perfect contrast to the tender romaine and creamy dressing."
