Tuna Melt Sandwich
Instructions
- 1
Drain the tuna well and flake it into a medium bowl using a fork.
- 2
Finely dice the celery and red onion. Add them to the tuna along with mayonnaise, lemon juice, and dijon mustard.
- 3
Mix the tuna salad thoroughly and season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
- 4
Slice the cheddar cheese thinly, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 5
Butter one side of each bread slice. Place two slices butter-side down in a cold skillet.
- 6
Divide the tuna mixture evenly between the two bread slices in the pan. Top each with cheese slices.
- 7
Place the remaining bread slices on top, butter-side up.
- 8
Heat the skillet over medium heat and cook for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
- 9
Carefully flip each sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
- 10
Remove from heat, let cool for a minute, then cut diagonally and serve immediately.
