Old Fashioned Cocktail
Ingredients
- • 60 ml bourbon whiskey
- • 1 item sugar cube
- • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- • 1 strip orange peel
- • 1 item maraschino cherry
Instructions
- 1
Place the sugar cube in an old fashioned glass (rocks glass).
- 2
Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters directly onto the sugar cube.
- 3
Add a small splash of water (about 1 teaspoon) to help dissolve the sugar.
- 4
Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently muddle the sugar cube with the bitters and water until mostly dissolved.
- 5
Add 2-3 large ice cubes to the glass.
- 6
Pour the bourbon over the ice.
- 7
Stir gently for about 20-30 seconds to chill and dilute slightly.
- 8
Express the oils from the orange peel by holding it over the drink and giving it a good twist. Rub the peel around the rim of the glass.
- 9
Drop the orange peel into the drink and add the maraschino cherry as garnish.
- 10
Serve immediately.
