Fudgy Chocolate Brownies

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.

  2. 2

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in 30-second intervals until fully melted. Let cool slightly.

  3. 3

Whisk the sugar into the melted butter until well combined.

  4. 4

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

  5. 5

In a separate bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.

  6. 6

Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined - don't overmix.

  7. 7

Fold in half of the chocolate chips, reserving the rest for topping.

  8. 8

Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.

  9. 9

Bake for 23-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  10. 10

Cool completely in the pan before lifting out and cutting into 16 squares.

Chef's Note

"These are my go-to brownies when I need that perfect fudgy texture - crispy edges with an irresistibly gooey center. Don't overbake them; they'll continue firming up as they cool, and trust me, slightly underdone is exactly what you want here."
