Cuban Sandwich
Ingredients
- • 1 loaf Cuban bread or French bread
- • 450 g roasted pork shoulder, sliced
- • 225 g ham, thinly sliced
- • 200 g Swiss cheese
- • 120 g dill pickles, sliced lengthwise
- • 60 ml yellow mustard
- • 60 g butter, softened

Cut the bread into 4 equal portions, then slice each portion horizontally without cutting all the way through

Spread mustard on both inner sides of each bread portion

Layer the bottom half with roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and pickle slices

Close the sandwiches and spread butter on both outer sides of the bread

Heat a large skillet or sandwich press over medium heat

Place sandwiches in the skillet and press down firmly with a spatula or heavy pan

Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted, pressing occasionally

If using a sandwich press, cook for 5-6 minutes total until crispy and cheese melts

Remove from heat and let rest for 1 minute before cutting diagonally
